BRIDGEPORT, CT - The owner of a New Haven car dealership has been accused of running a large-scale drug trafficking ring, supplying cocaine and crack cocaine to distributors throughout New Haven County.
Roberto "Tito" Rodriguez, 55, owner of Buy Rite Auto Sales, is the lead target of the federal investigation, which was revealed Tuesday in Bridgeport federal court when a judge unsealed the case.
Ten people, including Rodriguez's 30-year-old son, Roberto "Blanco" Rodriguez, have been arrested.
Federal authorities say the son allegedly operated his own cocaine trafficking operation in New Haven. He has also been charged with distributing marijuana and oxycodone.
The investigation relied partially on wiretaps on cell phones used by the father and son. State and federal law enforcement are involved in the case.
