On monday, the owner turned himself into the police. The dealership is closed, the owner is in jail on a half a million dollar bond. He faces 54 fraud charges. Rochester Auto Dealer Imprisoned for Laundering Money
COMMENT:  ROCHESTER, NY - Antonio C., 38, of Rochester, was to federal prison Monday, October 6, for laundering money. He admitted that between January 2000 and May 2006, he accepted cash for cars on several occasions, knowing that the cash was obtained from criminal activities, including illegal drug trafficking. Over the course of that time, Antonio laundered between $400,000 and $1,000,0000. Antonio was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison, followed by a supervised release of two years, and agreed to forfeit nearly $170,000 in cash and motor vehicles seized by the government in connection with this case. Case against Elkhart auto dealer goes to prosecutor
COMMENT:  ELKHART, IN — A year-long fraud investigation involving a former Elkhart auto dealer is finally in the hands of the county prosecutor. Last July state police raided Team Elkhart Auto following dozens of complaints about the dealer. Customers told police that instead of receiving titles for the cars they had purchased, they were receiving notices of missing paperwork and accusations that they did not pay their trade-in loans. Car Dealership's Gas Offer Called A Lie
COMMENT:  NEW YORK, NY - City officials say a Bronx car dealership is lying to its customers by promising to pay for gas. The city's Department of Consumer Affairs claimed Thursday that City World Toyota of Williamsbridge is violating the law with its $500 gas card promotion. Officials say the dealership's ad promises the gas card with the purchase of any vehicle, but the fine print says only select cars are eligible. Controversial Car Dealership Burns
COMMENT:  KANSAS CITY, KS - Controversy surrounding a metro car dealership heats up. Arson investigators say a fire was intentionally set on the lot of Chad Franklin Suzuki less than a week after the attorneys general in Kansas and Missouri filed lawsuits against the owner. Just before 3 a.m. Monday, firefighters were called to Legend Suzuki, formerly Chad Franklin Suzuki, at 6801 State Avenue in Kansas City, Kan. Firefighters say 10 sport utility vehicles were set on fire at the dealership. Eight of them were destroyed and the other two were damaged in the fire. Sued, Bankrupted Car Dealership Closes Doors

While Fred Davis had faced 51 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to scheming BB&T bank out of $6 million, he was sentenced to serve 26 months and pay back $4.2 million. Update: Police Arrest a Man in Connection with Battlefield Ford Stabbing
COMMENT:  Charlottesville, VA - Albemarle County Police say that on Wednesday morning an angry customer stabbed one of the employees at Battlefield Ford on Pantops. Sixty-six-year-old James J. of Charlottesville was arrested for malicious wounding. Investigators say James came to the dealershiip to complain about a car he bought recently. He then slashed an employee several times with a butcher knife. Employees of the car dealership say the stabbed man has been an employee of Battlefield Ford for thirty-eight years. Rodney Price Pleads Guilty to A Car Dealer Scam

COMMENT:  MISSION, TX - Four ex-car dealership employees are accused of stealing over $300,000 from the company. Investigators say the four were involved in a scam at Bert Odgen Chevrolet which lasted over two years. The suspects are accused of creating false work orders and pocketing the money. Auto Dealership Fined $100,000

In 2006, Investigators raided the Huber dealership near the West Dodge Expressway, looking for evidence of title fraud. COMMENT:  Pinellas Park, FL - Marcus W. was looking for a hot car and a good deal. But he says he was deceived. He spotted a 2001 maroon Toyota Spyder with 22,000 miles on EBay listed for $7500. The seller: Y and K Auto Sales in Pinellas Park. But he ended up with a silver Spyder with 54,000 miles. Silver paint was rubbing off, tires were going flat. There was faulty wiring, poor lighting and water leaking into the car. Glass still pours from under the dash. Marcus said "Y and K" showed him a report listing a minor crash with damage to the driver side panel. A legitimate Carfax report later showed something much different.
